Special Lifting

Permanent under deck bridge maintenance gantries themselves need to be regularly maintained and occasionally refurbished, to ensure continued safety when the gantries are in use during below deck bridge inspections, maintenance, refurbishments and repairs.

Guided by our IRATA qualified abseilers and detailed methodology, our special lifting platforms lower permanent gantries to the ground. Once the gantry work has been completed, our rope technicians safely manage the lift of these heavy structures back into the underside of the bridge.

ALPS special lifting solutions are also regularly deployed in construction and building refurbishment work, such as the installation of new windows and frames in high rise buildings, when the use of cranes is not feasible. ALPS strictly follows LOLER guidelines (Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998) and is accredited to the Lifting Equipment Engineers Association (LEEA).
